“I see before me the Gladiator lie: He leans upon his hand - his manly brow Consents to death, but conquers agony.” - Lord Byron

Apologies...I said that I was going to focus on certain areas of my closet and that one thing I did not need were shoes but (as is my way) I then came across these suede gladiator sandals from Paul & Joe.

I'm trying (and failing) to imagine an outfit which wouldn't look good paired with these...classic, yet funky...and overwhelmingly expensive...ah well, sometimes the only way to stick to those good intentions is the inability to afford the things you're lusting after...

thesearch - ooh, you enabler, you! On a side note, you're right, there is a lot of "summer suede" this year...which is odd as it's really not the most practical fabric. Okay, back to trying to maintain my good resolutions...

Until midnight tonight, you'd get an extra $150 off with the promo code, you know, just in case you wanted to try them on to see if they're that wonderful in person. If they are, then they're worth it, if not, back they go. No harm, no foul. (At least that's what I'm telling myself about the Alessandro Dell'Acqua gladiator flats I'm just "trying.") BTW - how did things go with your Heimstone jacket?

You must buy them - esp. as they are on sale today (re: Abby's comment).

abby - thanks for the sale info! Sadly I didn't log-on last night and missed the reduction, but it's probably for the best...I need to maintain my resolve on this one...I will shortly be making a career change and really need to avoid any big-ticket purchases for a while (though that won't stop me looking/posting).
